Beltane Fire Society

The Beltane Fire Society was created in the late 1980's as a community arts project, celebrating the seasonal quarter-day festivals through street performance theatre. BFS continues this role to the present day, and encourages members of both Edinburgh's Community and the wider world to join us in continuing to celebrate these traditional events.

Centre for Human Ecology

The Centre for Human Ecology is a network for ecological and social transformation. We offer challenging courses for people who want to "be the change," help organisations pursue greener, more ethical practices, and work towards tackling the root causes of global issues. Drawing on a holistic understanding of environmental and social systems, we develop practical solutions and influence new thinking. Committed to enduring, systemic change, our approach engages head, heart, and hand – integrating reason, passion, and action for a better world.

Crossreach's Post Natal Depression Project

The Crossreach Post Natal Depression Project has been running for over 12 years. All staff are professionally trained and come from a variety of backgrounds including counselling, psychotherapy and art therapy. The Women's Therapy Groups are held in Edinburgh, Linlithgow and The Borders, are co-facilitated by group therapists and by health professionals including health visitors and community psychiatric nurses.

Reforesting Scotland

During 15 influential years, Reforesting Scotland has helped bring about a transformation in the way we, as a nation, view Scotland's forest resource and the level to which communities have become involved in manageing their local woodlands.

Refugee Survival Trust

The Refugee Survival Trust (RST) is a charitable trust, set up in 1996 by a number of concerned individuals. It was a reaction to the problem of refugees and asylum seekers being made destitute in Scotland following changes in the law which reduced social security benefits and meant local authorities could no longer provide cash to people who were destitute on their streets.

We provide direct services, including accommodation, support, employment and rehabilitation, and actively campaign to influence policy and improve care services in Scotland.

Scottish Education and Action for Development

SEAD campaigns against the arms trade, against apartheid in South Africa, and our solidarity work with people around the world working for social and environmental justice. They energetically fought to raise the profile of the role of women in development, long before it was widely accepted, and were one of the first organisations in Scotland to take up the cause of fair trade as part of a solution to trade injustices.
